Company History

Pacificvet Ltd is an independent, New Zealand-owned company established in 1993 by Bruce Graham and Kent Deitemeyer.   Well-known within their niche markets, Graham and Deitemeyer, who have known each other for over 30 years, have combined their expertise to create a company that is a market leader in the supply of vaccines and veterinary immunology products for the New Zealand and South Pacific poultry industries.

Kent Deitemeyer worked at senior management level for Salsbury and its successor Solvay in Asia, Europe and  Australia before co-founding Pacificvet Ltd.

Bruce Graham, through his links with the poultry industry, registered the first live poultry vaccine to be imported into and sold in NZ – AE Vac. That product was followed by dozens more for poultry, pigs, cattle and horses covering diseases as diverse as Fowl Pox, Mycoplasma Gallisepticum, Parvovirus and Strangles.  One type is of vaccine is currently finished at the Pacificvet Ltd laboratory - the rest are imported, ready for use.

Since 1993, Pacificvet has maintained a MAF approved Containment and Transitional Facility to import and stock biological material for the diverse epidemiological needs of the Pacific Islands.

In recent years, the company has concentrated research on New Zealand specific poultry disease problems and immunological solutions, supporting research at Lincoln University on infectious bronchitis virus in New Zealand poultry.  Pacificvet Ltd has also embarked on an education programme designed to update the veterinary community and other client groups in the principles of applied veterinary immunology.

Pacificvet's market continues to grow throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.  Our future growth lies in prevention, not treatment. The focus stays on primary sector clients, and updating their product range with new products aimed at preventative veterinary care.
