AE-Poxine
For the vaccination of healthy chicken replacement pullets as an aid in the prevention of avian encephalomyelitis (AE) and fowl pox. The vaccine contains live AE and fowl pox virus.
Dosage and Administration
Vaccinate chickens once they reach 8 weeks of age, but at least 4 weeks prior to the beginning of egg production. Vaccine is given by wing web administration. Give one dose per chicken.
Caution
If given to laying flocks, this live-virus vaccine could cause a significant or even serious drop in egg production - often lasting 10 to 14 days. Eggs for hatching should not be taken from the flock until 4 weeks have passed following vaccination. Do not vaccinate or expose chickens under 3 weeks of age.
The manufacturer recommends that chickens are vaccinated at least 21 days prior to slaughter. Use required doses of vaccine when first opened and dispose of vaccine container and all unused contents in an approved manner. See full directions on insert.
See www.nzfsa.govt.nz/acvm for registration conditions.
