About Us

Celebrating 30 years trading

Founded by Kent Deitemeyer and Bruce Graham on the 1st of April 1993, Pacificvet Limited is this year celebrating 30 years of serving the poultry industry in New Zealand and the South Pacific.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers and suppliers for their support during this time, and we look forward to working with the industry to ensure the needs of the South Pacific region continue to be met in the years to come.

30years

What We Do

We supply a wide range of sophisticated biological products to support vaccination programs that are custom-designed for New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and diagnostic tools for epidemiological studies and quality control programs.

Pacificvet make vaccination recommendations that account for the risks of exposure and incidence of poultry diseases based on geography and what pathogens are prevalent. We can give advice on the vaccines that are essential, as opposed to those that are optional or not required, based on the likely risk of a specific disease.

Since 1993, Pacificvet has maintained a Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) approved Containment and Transitional Facility to import and stock biological material to meet the diverse epidemiological needs of the Pacific Islands. Compliance with this strict government-mandated system protects the New Zealand environment (which is free of diseases such as Newcastle Disease and Infectious Bursal Disease) and ensures that products exported to the Pacific Islands originate from a biologically safe environment.

Who We Are

Pacificvet Ltd is managed and run by a team of professionals, entirely dedicated to our diverse client base in New Zealand and the South Pacific. Our aim is to consistently satisfy our clients’ requirements and maintain a principle of continual improvement in the efficient delivery of quality products and service.

The company’s directors and staff dedicate much of their time to the NZ Branch of the World’s Poultry Science Association, the poultry training program of the Primary ITO, Wildbase (The Wildlife Health Clinic) and the NZ Equine Research Foundation.

The ongoing product management and client service comes through technical knowledge and experience in the world poultry industry. We firmly believe in the principle of education through science. Our technical team reaches over to our customer base, ensuring the most comprehensive strategies to build up an immunisation program for their livestock.

Collaborations

Pacificvet maintains an education program on the principles of vaccination as a key element of good stockmanship. As a science-based company with constant emphasis on product stewardship, we keep clients, veterinarians and users informed on the responsible use of vaccines and interpretation of diagnostics. Understanding the rationale behind the use of vaccines is critical to ensure that future decisions on vaccination techniques and programs are sustainable.

As part of our commitment to wildlife health as a non-profit activity, we have assisted with unique immunisation programs that help preserve some of New Zealand most precious species. We provide expertise and products to support the Wellington Zoo, Wildbase at Massey University, West Coast Wildlife Centre Franz Josef Glacier, and to the Department of Conservation’s endangered species recovery programs for the Kiwi, Kakapo, Takahe and Campbell Island Teal.

Pacificvet supports research into New Zealand specific immunological solutions at Lincoln University, Massey University and collaborates with local laboratories and other research groups. We are backed by a strong international team of leading animal health companies, such as Zoetis, Elanco, Ceva Animal Health and IZO .
