For prevention of fowl pox in young chicks and laying hens.
1000 doses live freeze dried tissue culture fowl pox vaccine per vial
10 ml of Sterile Diluent 29
One live virus vaccination.
Young chicks (in the hatchery, at placement or during brooding). Administer Chick-N-Pox™ TC from 1 day-of-age by wing-web stab. (Revaccinate at 12 weeks-of-age with Poxine®).
Laying hens. Administer Chick-N-Pox™ TC to at risk hens by wing-web stab.
Monitoring vaccine “takes”
Select 20 chickens 10 – 14 days after vaccination and check for vaccine “takes”. More than 50% of the flock should have some swelling and / or scabs at the wing-web stab site.
Store refrigerated at 2 to 7°C. Do not allow to freeze. Do not expose to disinfectants, direct sunlight or heat.
After reconstitution use the vaccine within 1 hour.
In accordance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) best practice, all susceptible birds should be vaccinated concurrently with the dose recommended by the manufacturer.
Do not allow the vaccine to touch the feathers or head of the chicken.
