Indication
For active immunisation of healthy chickens against Infectious Bronchitis (IB).
Presentation
1000 or 2500 doses of live freeze dried Massachusetts B48 strain of Infectious Bronchitis virus vaccine per vial.
Vaccination Program
Broilers
Cevac® Mass L may be administered from one day-of-age.
Layers and Breeders
There are two standard IB vaccination programs.
Program 1. Two attenuated live primer vaccinations
(Cevac® Mass L) plus one inactivated booster
vaccination (Izovac IB).
Program 2. Two attenuated live primer vaccinations
(Cevac® Mass L) followed by a live booster vaccination
(Cevac® Mass L) repeated at intervals of 8 weeks.
Cevac Mass L Program
Vaccine administration
From one day-of-age administer Cevac® Mass L by eye-drop or spray.
At 4 weeks-of-age administer the first attenuated live primer Cevac® Mass L by drinking water or spray.
At 10 weeks-of-age administer the second attenuated live primer Cevac® Mass L by drinking water or spray.
(Program 2.) At 18, 26, 34, 42, 50 and 58 weeks-of-age administer repeat attenuated live booster Cevac® Mass L by drinking water or spray.
Precautions
Store refrigerated between 2 and 8ºC. Do not expose to disinfectants or heat.
In accordance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) best practice, all susceptible birds on site must be vaccinated concurrently with the full dose recommended by the manufacturer.
There should be an interval of four weeks between the final attenuated live primer vaccination Cevac® Mass L and administration of the inactivated booster vaccine Izovac IB.
Administration of the attenuated live vaccine Cevac® Mass L to flocks in lay may result in a transient decrease in egg production or quality.
Rarely, catarrhal respiratory discharge appears 4 to 6 days following vaccination, but disappears within a few days.
