One live virus vaccination.

From 6 weeks-of-age until 4 weeks before the onset of lay

Monitoring vaccine “takes”

Select 20 chickens 10 – 14 days after vaccination and check for vaccine “takes”. More than 50% of the flock should have some swelling and / or scabs at the wing-web stab site.

Precautions

Store refrigerated at 2 to 7˚C. Do not allow to freeze. Do not expose to disinfectants, direct sunlight or heat.

After reconstitution use the vaccine within 1 hour.

In accordance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) best practice, all susceptible birds should be vaccinated concurrently with the dose recommended by the manufacturer.

Do not allow the vaccine to touch the feathers or head of the chicken.

Do not vaccinate chicks less than 3 weeks of age.

Do not vaccinated sick or debilitated birds.

Administration of live fowl pox vaccine to flocks in lay may result in a transient decrease in egg production for up to 14 days.

Do not administer live fowl pox vaccine to breeders within 4 weeks of onset of lay or during egg production. Eggs for hatching should not be taken from the flock until 4 weeks have elapsed following vaccination.
